American Dragoon Pistol, c. 1770-85. 8 in., .62 caliber round British barrel with ring decoration at the breech, top with Tower ordnance proof marks and left side of breech marked ''46' and with 'IF' barrel maker's mark; flat British Sea Service lock plate with pointed tail engraved 'IORDAN/1743' and crown over 'GR' with crowned broad arrow mark below the pan, marked on the inside surface with a crown over '7'; tiger maple stock; brass furniture including British trigger guard with acorn finial, simple brass butt cap, sheet brass side plate with pointed rear, sheet brass rammer pipe, wood rammer with pewter tip. Overall lg. 12 3/4 in. Condition: Barrel and lock toned to mottled gray and with minor pitting at vent and pan areas; stock has a repair in the grip, losses at the rear of the lock mortice, and losses along the barrel channel, lock has period replaced cock and steel spring.
