Renfort présent au niveau de la manche et des poches. Grade de manche monté d'origine. Insigne de la 82ème Airborne original mais rapporté. Pièce découpée d'origine suite à la blessure au flanc droit de son propriétaire. Ensemble monté sous cadre moderne, et fond recouvert d'un morceau de voilure camouflé. A noter une certaine usure et oxydation de la pièce. Pièce jamais touché, ni nettoyée. Pièce trouvée dans le grenier d'une grange au Hameau de Doville, près de Varenguebec, secteur de combat des parachutistes du 3rd Battalion du 505th PIR. Illustrée page85 du livre 75 objets du Débarquement de Normandie. Attestation originale de provenance signée de Bertrand Paris jointe avec un exemplaire de l'ouvrage. In poplin, in camouflage typical of the Pathfinder Units. The reinforcement can be seen at the sleeve and in the pockets. The sign of rank on the sleeve is original. The 82nd Airborne insignia added. The item was cut following the wound on the owner’s right side. The whole piece is set in a modern frame, the bottom of which is covered with a fragment of parachute silk. Note some wear and tear and oxidization of the item. The item has never been altered or cleaned. The item was found in a barn in Hameau de Doviille, near Varenguebec, where the 3d battalion of the 505 PIR was in action. An illustration can be found on page 85 in the book 75 objects of the Landings in Normandy.
