A Javanese Keris Solo.
A Javanese Keris Solo.
Umur (age): Kamardikan.
The Keris with a hand forged ‘5 Luk’ waved Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron. Dapur in ‘Singa Barong’. Small gilded Mendak (cuff) with ‘Untu Walang’ (=grasshopper teeth) between the blade and the hilt. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Desa’ shape, and carved from Teak wood. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Gayaman Iras Desa’ type (‘kidney’ shaped). Warangka and Gandar (body) both made from painted wood, patiently carved by hand.
Length of the blade, including ‘Pesi’ (tang of the blade): 27.2 cm
