Olympic Games Helsinki 1952. German Medal Pin - Official badge of honour of the NOC of West Germany for the German silver medallists at the Olympic Gamesiin Helsinki 1952 and Berlin 1936 (posthumous). Hallmarked silver (835), made by Th.Heiden, München, 2.5 cm. With original cardboard box and embossed Olympic Rings (5.5 x 3.5 cm). The same pin exists in bronze and guilt bronze (gold) for bronze respectively gold medallists and was presented to German medallists from 1952 to 1960. Medallists of 1936 got this pin posthumously because the original pin had shown a swastika which was forbidden after 1945.
Medaillenabzeichen 1952 - Offizielles Ehrenabzeichen des westdeutschen NOK für Gewinner der Silbermedaille für die Mannschaft der BRD bei den Olympischen Spielen Heslinki 1952 und Olympische Spiele Berlin 1936 (posthum). Silber (gepunzt 835er), Hersteller: Th.Heiden, München, 2,5 cm. In original Pappbox mit geprägten Olympischen Ringen (5,5x3,5 cm). - Das gleiche Abzeichen gibt es auch in Bronze für Bronze- und vergoldet für Goldmedaillengewinner wurde vom NOK ab 1952 bis ca. 1960 an deutsche Medaillengewinner ausgegeben. Auch die Medaillengewinner der Olympischen Spiele 1936 erhielten postum dieses Abzeichen, da sie 1936/37 ein Abzeichen mit einem Hakenkreuz erhalten hatten, dass ab 1945 nicht mehr getragen werden durfte.

Auctionterms

The lots have been described conscientiously. The authenticity of the lots is guaranteed if nothing to the contrary is mentioned in the text.

Prices listed in the catalogue are estimates only. The lots may be sold at higher or lower prices. Auctioning will start at 80% of estimate unless at least two higher bids have been received. Bids under 80% of estimate are not accepted by the auctioneer.

Bids are to be submitted in € only. They are executed conscientiously and without any commission.

A buyer´s fee of 19,5% is added to the successful bid. Foreign purchasers from EEC countries will be charged the German VAT. Postage, insurance and bank charges will also be added. Payment is due within 10 days of the auction invoice. The buyer is responsible for compliance with import regulations.

Bids by customers unknown to us are executed only when a sufficient deposit is mailed with the bids of verifiable bank or trade references are furnished.

The auctioneer reserves the right to sent lots only after payment has been made by a bank transfer to one of our accounts, or by a check in € drawn on a German bank. A personal check has to clear first.
