Description
A Waidpraxe (Chopping Knife, Hunting Cutlass)
A heavy single-edged chopping blade engraved on both sides with floral pattern, running stag and boar. The smith mark at the base of the blade. Quillons made in brass with chiselled hunting dog on the side. Finely carved wooden grip in the shape of a lion attacked by hounds. Germany circa 1700, length 33.5 cm. Condition 2+

Kräftiges, gelochtes Blatt mit gekrümmten Rücken und mit Schmiedemarke am Ansatz. Beidseitig geätzter Zierdekor mit Hirsch und Wildschwein. Messing-Parierstange mit vollplastischem Hund auf einer Seite. Fein geschnitzte hölzerne Hilze in Form eines Löwen, der von Hunden angegriffen wird. Deutsch um 1700, Länge 33,5 cm. Zustand 2+
