An Italian third quarter 19th century specimen marble and hardstone top set within a near contemporary giltwood and rosewood centre table or gueridon the top: 1850-1870; the table probably: 1875-1895 The circular top with a roundel inset with three concentric six-pointed stars, the central star inlaid with assorted marble tesserae and a smaller conforming star motif, encompassed by sixteen radiating segments of various specimens, the stand with a flared rocaille apron, on three scrolled foliate and S-scroll form supports, with an undertier surmounted by urn finials, the moulded base terminating in three carved rocky piles, the top approximately: 74cm wide; 83cm high approximately; the diameter of the marble top: 52cm approximately.
