A mid 19th century gilt figural mantel clock the dial signed Leroy A Paris, the movement signed and numbered 128 and with Japy Frères pastille of elaborate form surmounted by a classical maiden holding a bouquet and flanked by a bow and quiver and a putto, the drumhead case raised on floriate and fern fronds, the Roman enamel dial with small R A indicator above XII and steel moon hands, the twin spring barrel movement with delicate anchor escapement, the identically numbered pendulum with silk suspension striking on a bell with a winding key, 48cms high Footnotes: The medal for Japy Frères on the back plate lists all the medals the company had won at that point; 1823, 1827, 1834, 1839, 1844, and 1849. As the next medal won by the company was in 1851, the movement was likely to have been made between 1849 and 1851.
