A MOTHER-OF-PEARL 'LADY' SNUFF BOTTLE AND A MOTHER-OF-PEARL 'CORN' BOTTLE Qing Dynasty The first of flattened hexagonal form decorated in relief to each side in mother of pearl, soapstone and hardstone with a bust portrait of a lady, against a geometric ground, Qianlong four-character mark to the base; the second of ovoid form, the corn exposed beneath the trailing leaves, stoppers, Spink & Son Ltd. box. The tallest 8cm (3 1/8in). (5). Footnotes: 清 螺鈿仕女像鼻煙壺及螺鈿玉蜀黍形小罐 Provenance: from a UK private collection, acquired predominantly from Spink & Son Ltd., London, between 1970 and 1990, by repute.
