JAPANESE ARMY WINTER MITTENS. [Japan: 1941-45.] Two pairs of Japanese Army leather mittens, a winter pair for extreme cold, with padded liner and rabbit fur cuff, the other, a late war pair, with leather hand section, but with a cheaper cardboard cuff; Together with a leather flying helmet, kid lined, with its leather strap; and a Japanese Red Cross Organization of Japan medal, in its original box, late 19th century. Provenance: Recovered by L.L.Brantz, a flyer on a B-17 'The Reluctant Dragon'. Lot to be sold without reserve.
