An 18-Bore Flintlock Saw-Handled Duelling Pistol Signed Holmes, London, Circa 1815-20 With heavy rebrowned elaborately twist octagonal sighted barrel engraved 'LONDON' along the top flat, breech with back-sight, two platinum lines and platinum-lined touch-hole, foliate engraved tang, border engraved flat bevelled detented lock and cock decorated with foliage, the former signed in capitals on a platinum-inlaid oval, and with engraved safety-catch, rainproof pan and roller, figured half-stock (spur repaired, fore-end with minor old split on each side) with chequered rounded butt, flat ovoidal pommel encircled by an engraved silver band and with vacant silver oval beneath, steel spur trigger-guard with pineapple finial and decorated with foliage on the border engraved bow, vacant silver escutcheon on the side-flat, silver barrel-bolt escutcheon and fore-end cap, adjustable set trigger, and brass-mounted ramrod, Birmingham proof marks and barrelsmith's mark 'R.H.' 24 cm. barrel For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
