HIDENAO A SILVERED BRONZE OKIMONO OF A PEACOCK AND A PEAHEN Japan, Meiji period, late 19th century, both depicted strutting, the peacock with its head turned leftward, red-lacquered heads, shakudo claws, signed, 'Hidenao,' in an oval cartouche near the underside of the tip of the peacock's feather, mounted on a carved wood base, overall ht. 7 1/2, wd. 18 1/4, bird ht. to 6 1/2 wd. to 9 3/4 in.
