DICKENS IN PARTS. DICKENS, CHARLES. 1812-1870. The Mystery of Edwin Drood. London: Chapman & Hall, 1870. 8vo. Additional engraved title and portrait, and 12 wood engraved plates after Luke Fildes. Publisher's printed blue wrappers. Spines faded, some have been reinforced, some repairs to wrappers. Custom cloth folding box. FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, IN 6 ORIGINAL PARTS, advertisements present as called for by Hatton & Cleaver including the fragile 'Cork Hat' slip in part 2, and the first issue of part 6, with 'Eighteenpence' slip pasted over printed price, but without the rare Chapman & Hall catalogue in part 5; part 4 contains Chapman & Hall 'Recent Publications.'
