Carved and Painted Franklin D. Roosevelt Figure, Joe Hrovat (1920-2013), West Allis, Wisconsin, dated 1945. Polychrome carved wooden sculpture depicting U.S. President Roosevelt (1882-1945) in a wheelchair and smoking a long cigarette, signed on reverse, with custom stand, 7cm wide, 10cm deep, 20cm high (3in wide, 4in deep, 8 1/2in high). Footnotes: Note Hrovat was a member of the Badger State Carvers Association and Master Carver at the Chappie Fox Circus Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Provenance Sherry Pardee, Iowa City, Iowa.
