Gustavian Gilt Bronze Mounted Rannas Porphyry Box, Sweden, circa 1800. The circular spiral-faceted stepped top fitted with a gilt bronze berried finial and rim above the cylindrical body, ht. 6, diam. 6 in. Footnotes: Provenance The collection of Eric van Rooy. H.M. Luther Antiques, New York, New York, 28 March 2009. Exhibitions The bottom retains label from a major exhibition of Swedish porphyry in Stockholm and Paris, reading Bukowskis Porfyrutsallning, Nr 164 Stockholm 15/12 1985 - 2/2 1986.
