A 14K GOLD AND DIAMOND SET MANUAL WIND BRACELET WATCH Date: c. 1967 Movement: 17-jewel manual wind Dial: Gilt textured Case: Round, diamond set bezel, snap on case back with personal engraving, No. 668760 Strap/Bracelet: 14k gold integral link Buckle/Clasp: 14k gold folding clasp, signed Signed: Case, dial, and movement Size: 20mm Accompaniments: None Footnotes: Elvis Presley was renowned for his love of watches and jewelry, not only wearing them he also liked to give them as gifts. His preference seemed to be for gold, diamonds, and sapphires, and he was known to have gifted inscribed Baume & Mercier watches over the years to a select few. The present timepiece is a great example - engraved on the caseback 'From Elvis Presley to Dodie Marshall my great treasure my greatest love Elvis'. The watch remained in the ownership of Dodie Marshall and is being offered from her private estate. It was nicely preserved with minor signs of use. Dodie Marshall is an English actress who grew up in the USA where she took singing and acting lessons before heading to Hollywood where she appeared in front of the camera for the first time in 1964. She went on to appear in film and television productions between 1964 and 1967 including the Paramount Pictures musical comedy film Easy Come, Easy Go (1967) where Dodie Marshall played Elvis' love interest Jo Symington, as well as Spinout (1966) and The Man from U.N.C.L.E (1964) For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
