A West Javanese Keris Solo, with 13th century blade

Umur (age): Capital city Pajajaran of Sunda Kingdom.

The Keris with hand forged ‘3 Luk’ waved Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (pattern type: ‘Pedaringan Kebak’). Dapur in ‘Singa Barong Jangkung’ shape (later but not recent). Small nickel Mendak (cuff) with ‘Meniran’ between hilt and blade. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Jejeran Maraseba’ shape, and carved from Tayuman wood. The old Warangka (sheath) of ‘Gayaman Kagok’ type (‘kidney’ shaped) and made from Trembal wood patiently carved by hand. Gandar (body) with nickel Pendok (cover), the old Blewah with ‘‘Lung Kanthet’’ pattern.
Length of the blade, including ‘Pesi’ (tang of the blade): 35.4 cm. (1x)
Note 1: Pajajaran was the fortified capital city of the Sunda kingdom. The location is roughly corresponds to modern Bogor city in West Java, Indonesia. It was settled at least since the 10th century. From the 15th century on, Pajajaran became major political importance, when Sri Baduga Maharaja established it as the royal capital of Sunda kingdom. After the reign of King Jayadewata (Sri Baduga Maharaja), Pakuan Pajajaran served as the royal capital for several generations. Dayeuh Pakuan Pajajaran served as the capital of Sunda Kingdom approximately for almost a hundred years (1482-1579), until it was razed and destroyed by the Sultanate of Banten in 1579.
