Per i putti, tra le molte opere giovanili si veda “The Rest on the Fight to Egypt with youthful Saint John the Baptist”, asta del 11/07/2001 Christie's di Londra.A Roma è Poussin che ama e dipinge questo tema riprendendolo dalle opere vedute di Tiziano. Questi temi sono presenti nell’opera di Poussin del primo periodo, quando opera in Francia tra 1612 e il 1624, e nel secondo periodo, che coincide con i primi anni a Roma tra il 1624 e il 1630. For the putti, among the many early works see “The Rest on the Fight to Egypt with youthful Saint John the Baptist”, auction of 11/07/2001, Christie's in London.Rome is the place where Poussin loves and paints this theme taking it up from the vedute works of Titian. These themes are present in Poussin's work of the first period, when he worked in France between 1612 and 1624, and in the second period, which coincides with the first years in Rome between 1624 and 1630. The work in question was born in the Roman environment, strongly influenced by its presence, and their typically baroque appearance is as refined as it is ornamental, fun and playful, while highlighting a clear moralizing message.
