The Pedestal Auctions

The Pedestal was founded in 2016 and holds specialist auctions across a wide range of collecting categories. We are based in the heart of the Home Counties at The Dairy on the Stonor Park Estate, just outside Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, and within easy reach of the M4, M40 and London.

The Pedestal’s co-founders and senior specialists, Guy Savill and Sally Stratton, are highly qualified, their combined high end auctions and auction world experience amounts to over 60 years.

Our specialist team works with many collectors, dealers, decorators and curators from around the globe and are constantly aware of the latest market trends through their extensive contacts in many fields.

Expertise in the dispersal of collections has led to The Pedestal’s auctions: The Collection of the late William H. Stokes, a leading dealer and connoisseur of early furniture and Works of Art, and The Collection of the late Patrick Donald, which featured a notable collection of Japanese arms and armour and Works of Art. Our auctions regularly feature single owner consignments assembled by private clients and acquired for residences in both town and country.

We also offer items from the major design movements of the last 150 years along with unique, decorative pieces including furniture, objects, carpets and rugs, ceramics, lighting, mirrors, silver, paintings and soft furnishings. Auctions at The Pedestal also feature a fine selection of paintings, prints and photographs, Oriental works of art, objects and ceramics and jewellery. 

The Pedestal is extremely well placed to offer appropriate advice to both buyers and sellers of art and antiques as well as facilitating connection to the international market.

We offer a comprehensive range of Valuation services, covering auction, insurance, probate and inheritance tax, and family and matrimonial division.
