A Hispano-Moresque tin-glazed earthenware lustred wet drug jar, Manises, 15th C. The baluster formed jug with strap handle, the spout with topped by a roundel, possibly for hanging. Standing on a circular foot, painted overall in copper-lustre and cobalt-blue with concentric bands of bryony vine. A similar example is in the Metropolitan Museum, gifted from the Cloisters Collection (Accession Number: 56.171.83). Size: ca. 21 cm tall. Condition: A small piece from the top rim reglued, slight surface wear throughout. No further restoration.

The Sale will feature a rich collection of ceramics, wonderful photography and an interesting group of naturalia items. 


Eyecatchers will be an intact egg of an elephant bird, a Timurid cuerda seca star-shaped tile (15th C.), an Italian Urbino maiolica figure of the Patanazzi workshop (ca. 1580) and a Dutch Delft mirror frame (17th C.). 


Also included will be an important group of antique tiles and Brussels faience, with many larger tile panels and a roar boar’s head tureen from the Brussels factory "Fabrique de la rue de Laeken".
