Bronze with fire gilding and residue of red pigments. Suryaprabha - his name in Sanskrit - is holding a disk with the sign for sun. Mostly shown together with his sibling, the Bodhisattva of the moon Candraprabha, do they attend the medicine Buddha Bhaisajyaguru. Height 26cm. Condition A/B.

China. Wohl Ming-Dynastie. Nord-chinesischer Lokalstil.

Bronze mit Feuervergoldung und Resten roten Pigments. Suryaprabha, so der Name des Bodhisattva in Sanskrit, hält in Händen eine Scheibe mit dem Schriftzeichen für Sonne. Meist zusammen mit Candraprabha, dem Bodhisattva des Mondes dargestellt. Man betrachtet sie als Geschwister, die den Medizinbuddha Bhaisajyaguru begleiten. Höhe 26cm. Zustand A/B.
