BOX WITH PLAYING BOYS
Red lacquerware. China, late Qing, approx. 1900 to 1st third of 20th cent.
This box has the shape of a peach and is entire embellised with a red lacquer carving on the outside, the inside with black lacquer. Around the flat and also black foot is a leiwen-meander, on the walls, floral decor between four lobed reserves, in which flowers are depicted over the black background pattern. This is repeated on the domed lid, above this section a tape with deometric patterns and shou-symbols (longevity). The upper side on the cover is dominated by an image of rocks, a Wutong-tree and pine trees as well as a terrace, on which three boys are moving in a playful fashion. Some signs of age, small bumps on the rabbet, 131overall good condition.

DECKELDOSE MIT SPIELENDEN KNABEN
Roter Schnitzlack. China, späte Qing, ca. um 1900 bis 1. Drittel 20. Jh.
Diese Dose hat Pfirsichform und ist außen zur Gänze mit rotem Schnitzlack versehen, das Innere ist mit Schwarzlack. Um den flachen und ebenfalls schwarzen Fuß ein Leiwen-Mäander, auf der Wandung floraler Dekor zwischen vier gelappten Reserven, in denen über schwarzem Grundmuster Blüten dargestellt sind. Auf dem gewölbten Deckel wird das wiederholt, über dieser Zone ein Band mit geometrischen Mustern und Shou-Symbolen (Langlebigkeit). Die Deckeloberseite beherrscht ein Bild mit Felsen, Wutong-Baum und Kiefern sowie einer Terrasse, auf der sich drei Knaben spielend bewegen. Etwas Altersmerkmale, kleine Bestoßungen am Falz, insgesamt aber gute Erhaltenheit.
