Buddhism and asian Religions
A group comprising one carved wood figure of an adorant in a kneeling position with his hand raised in worship, clad in courtly attire; traces of gilding, the back with red lacquer coat, losses. HEIGHT 22,3 CM; and a figure of the God of Longevity Shoulao, with characteristic high head, beard, and holding peach, carved of root wood to create a rustic impression, mounted on an elaborate base; with custom seal. HEIGHT FIGURE 19,3 CM, HEIGHT WITH BASE 19,5 CM Der Adorant in knieender Haltung, die Hände betont groß und zusammengetan. Die Figur trägt höfische Gewandung. Reste von Vergoldung, rückseits roter Lack, Fehlstellen.
