VASE WITH POMEGRANATES AND LIGHT-BLUE GLAZE
Glazed stoneware. China, presumably Ming-Dynasty (1368 – 1644)
A vase crafted in Jingdezhen, with the typical Qingbai-glaze (literally “green-blue white”). Slanted foot, pear-shaped body with tall neck and bulb-shaped swelling of the mouth. Three orbital rings on the shoulder, above it four plastic pomegranates on branches, symbol for “many children” and thereby a secured life. Very beautiful colour-tone of the Qingbai-glaze with some craquelé. Good condition of the sturdy body.
HEIGHT 28 CM
From a German private collection

Starting price: 1,600

VASE MIT GRANATÄPFEL UND HELL-BLAUER GLASUR
Glasiertes Steingut. China, vermutl. Ming-Dynastie (1368 – 1644)
