Im Sanskrit Buddha Amitabha, der über das "Westliche Paradies" herrscht. Er sitzt im Lotussitz und hält seine Hände über dem Schoß in der sogenannten Chiken-in. Auf dem Gewand vielfach florale Zier mit Blüten, Blättern und Wolken, aber auch ein weißer Daikon (Rettich) kommt vor. Hoher Kopf, das Gesicht mit meditativem Ausdruck, auf der Stirn eine Urna, im schwarzen Haar darüber das für Amida typische "Strahlende Juwel".
