PAVILLONS UND NOBLE DAMENMiniatur-Malerei mit Farben und Gold. Indien, um 1800Großes Blatt mit sechs verschiedenen Bildern, die alle einen Text in schwarz geschriebener Devanagari tragen. In jedem Bild ist ein weißes Gebäude dargestellt, vor dem sich eine sitzende Damen und mehrere vor dieser stehende befinden. Deren Zahl schwankt von zwei bis fünf, gekleidet sind alle auf ähnlich noble Weise und tragen viel Schmuck. Der Boden ist durchgehend mit Teppichen belegt und mit Dekormustern versehen. Auf einem Bild ist hinter der sitzenden Dame ein Tiger gemalt. Rückseits Text in Devanagari sowie handschriftlicher Vermerk in Englisch, daß das Blatt aus der Familie des Maharaja (Fürsten) von Sailana (südliches Rajasthan) erworben wurde.GRÖSSE 43 x 30,5 CMAus italienischer Privatsammlung, davor in der indischen eines MaharajaPAVILLONS AND NOBLE DAMESMiniature painting with colours and gold. India, around 1800An especially rare and relatively large page for a miniature painting, acquired from the family of Maharaja (royals) from Sailana (Southern Rajasthan). All six different pictures hold a black text written in Devangari. Each picture depicts a white building with woman sitting in front and several more standing in front of her. The pictures show varying groups of them, from two to five in total, all dressed in a similar luxurious fashion and wearing plenty jewellery. The ground is covered throughout by a carpet and embelished with decorative patterns. In one of the pictures, a tiger is painted behind the sitting dame.
