Die erhobene Hand zeigt die Geste der Argumentation, Vitarka Mudra, auch Argumentationsgeste genannt – Daumen und Zeigefinger formen das Rad der Lehre. Seine linke Hand bietet die Karana Mudra, den Gestus der Dämonenabwehr. Ein Finger fehlt, linke Hand restauriert.
