PAAR PINSELTÖPFE VOM TISCH DES GELEHRTENBambus. China, späte Qing-DynastieEin attraktives Paar Pinseltöpfe mit einem tief eingeschnittenen Relief aus je einem Segment vom Bambusstamm. Die Darstellung bietet hohe Kiefern und Gefels (beides - so wie auch der Bambus – ein Langlebenssymbole), davor Gewässer mit einem großen Kahn unter Segel. Ein Mann sitzt unter dem Bootsdach, blickt neugierig hervor, der andere steuert das Segel, beide sind „Literati“. Vermutlich fahren sie gerade am „Roten Fels“ am Yangzi-Fluß vorbei, Ort einer historisch berühmten Schlacht. Schöne rotbraune Färbung, Patina. Das zweite Stücke ist vom gleichen Schnitzer, hat das gleiche Relief, jedoch seitenverkehrt ausgeführt. China, late Qing DynastyAn attractive pair of brush pots with deeply carved relief, each from one segment of a bamboo trunk. The depiction offers tall pines and rocks (both - also the bamboo – are long life symbols), in front water and a large boat set sail. A man sits under the boat´s roof and looks forward curiously, the other manages the sail, both are "literati". Presumably they are just now going by the "Red Cliff" on Yangzi River, site of a historically famous battle. Lovely red-brown coloring, patina. The second piece is from the same carver, has the same relief, although executed in mirror image.
