China, Beijing, dated 1928Signed by Ye Zhongsan (1865 - 1945), one of the most prolific snuff bottle painters of the era, the skillfully executed work shows a continuous scene of boys playing ‘Blindman's Buff‘ in a garden edged with ornamental rocks and trees, on the reverse a group of boys holding hands in a ring broken by one who has fallen down, all in various vivid colors.Inscription (translated): In the year 1928, in the month of apricots.
