China, 18th-19th century. The tall neck rising from a globular body, supported on a short tapered foot, covered with a finely crackled glaze of crushed strawberry tone, transmuting to hues of pale celadon and mushroom toward the top, the glaze neatly stopping above the unglazed foot rim revealing the white body beneath, the interior and the base covered with a pale celadon glaze.
Provenance: French trade.
Condition: Very good condition with minor old wear and dome manufacturing irregularities. The foot smoothened in several areas, probably inherent to manufacturing, due to the uneven glaze dripping along the foot rim which is expected from this type of ware.
