Two Kingdom Of Wurttemberg 1889 Model Officer's Swords Reign Of Charles I (1864-1891) The first with fullered blade double-edged towards the point, the forte etched and gilt along one side with foliage framing the arms of Württemberg against a blued ground, and inscribed 'Damaststahl' in gothic letters on a scroll, and on the other with gilt foliage framing 'EISENHAUER', the ricasso on one side stamped with maker's marks and etched with owner's name 'CHR. LEIBBRAND, LUDWIGSBURG' in gilt letters, brass hilt cast with foliage and the pierced arms of Württemberg on the side-guard, the back of the pommel with crowned monogram of Charles I, and wire-bound composition grip (wire binding loose), in its steel scabbard painted black (some loss of paint) with ring for suspension; the second with nickel-plated fullered blade etched with Berlin maker's name along the back at the forte, gilt-brass hilt cast and pierced with the arms of Württemberg, folding side-guard, the back of the pommel with crowned monogram of Charles I, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip (fishskin slightly damaged), in its steel scabbard painted black (some damage overall) and with ring for suspension (2) 71.2 cm. and 78 cm. blades For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
