A 12-bore boxlock non-ejector gun by William Powell & Son, no. 6549 Incorporating the Gibbs & Pitt action patent no. 284 of 1873, unusual push-forward toplever, the action-body with sparse foliate-scrollwork, the figured stock with metal butt-plate, the damascus barrels (off the flats and pitted throughout) with game-rib engraved 'William Powell & Son, 13 Cars Lane, Birmingham' Weight 7lb. 3oz., 14⅜in. stock, 30in. barrels, Cyl. & Cyl. chokes, 2½in. chambers, Birmingham Black Powder proof Footnotes: For more information on H.
