Description
A Double-Barrelled Flintlock Shotgun
Two-stage barrels, octagonal then round after cut girdles, with smooth bore in 14 mm calibre. Patent breechblock. Barrels and the tang engraved (rubbed) and rest of gilding. Lightly cut iron flintlocks, with the barely legible signature "?/Clermont" engraved and gilded on the lock plates. Walnut half stock with checkering and escutcheon on the neck. Engraved (rubbed) iron furniture with remnants of gilding. The butt plate with the cover of the patch box. Wooden ramrod with a horn tip. France circa 1780, length 123 cm. Iron parts pitted. Condition 3+

Nebeneinander liegende, achtkantige, nach Baluster runde und glatte Läufe im Kaliber 14 mm mit Hakenschwanzschraube. Läufe und Schwanzschraubenblatt graviert (berieben) und in Resten vergoldet. Eiserne, leicht geschnittene Steinschlösser, auf den Schlossplatten gravierte und vergoldete schwer leserliche Signatur "?/Clermont". Nussholz-Halbschaft mit gewaffelter Handauflage und eiserne, gravierte (berieben) und in Resten vergoldete Garnitur. Holzladestock mit Horndopper. Frankreich um 1780, Länge 123 cm. Eiserne Teile narbig. Zustand 3+
