A late 19th century gilt and patinated bronze and later malachite clad figural mantel clock the figure after ThƩodore Doriot (French, 1829-1937) the movement stamped by Societe Clusienne S.C.A.P.H the rectangular breakfront case, with applied classical male and female profile portrait mounts, on moulded plinth base with beaded borders and lobed toupie feet, the whole surmounted by a classical female figure, possibly a Vestal Virgin, clad in folded drapery and with a diadem beside an oil lamp on square plinth base and moulded foot, signed DROIOT SCULPT, the 3.5'' enamel dial with Arabic numerals and floral garlanded decoration, with blued steel pierced moon hands, within a beaded bezel, the brass twin train movement numbered 31624 185M/N and with Brocot type suspension and outside count-wheel striking on a bell, with pendulum and winder, 68cm high, 36cm wide, 18cm deep This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TP TP For auctions held in Scotland: Lots will be moved to an offsite storage location (Constantine, Constantine House, North Caldeen Road, Coatbridge ML5 4EF, Scotland, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue.
