Mrig Darshan or Mrig Chitrakala is story from the Ramayana. Sita requested Lord Ram to capture this beautiful golden deer for her. It was a stunning deer with skin like gold. In this work, Roy has portrayed the protagonists of this story in his characteristic highly stylized and simplified manner.
