An Elamite bronze and silver spouted vessel Circa 12th-7th Century B.C. 17.5cm high, 25cm long Footnotes: Provenance: Private collection Europe, acquired 1980s. Anonymous sale; Pierre Bergé, Paris, 26 May 2011, lot 202. with Rupert Wace Ancient Art Ltd., London. Property from a Princely Collection, acquired from the above in 2012. Many pottery spouted vessels of this form were found at Tepe Sialk in Iran, as well as a bronze spouted vessel, which is now in the Louvre in Paris (museum no. AO 17910; S 546A). Tepe Sialk was known as an early centre for silver production. It is possible that the reinforced silver neck on the present lot is an ancient repair.
