S.Y. 'Nimrod', 15 January 1908; with original envelope (printed 'British Antarctic Expedition 1907' in blue on verso) addressed in ink ('Robin Gee, C/o National Bank of N.Z., Wellington'), green half penny and red penny postage stamps, stamped 'Antarctic. King Edward VII Land', 'Christchurch N.Z. 25. JA. 08. 7.45P.M.', and 'Wellington', some spotting, 1908 Footnotes: 'Greetings from within the Antarctic Circle' - a letter sent by George Buckley (1866–1937), a New Zealand farmer and the last man to join the the British Antarctic Expedition, boarding the Nimrod just two hours before departure from Lyttleton and travelling as far as the pack ice after which he returned on the Koonya. Prior to departure Shackleton had been appointed as a New Zealand Postmaster, and was provided with NZ 'Penny Universal' stamps, overprinted 'King Edward VII Land', for use on the expedition, and a circular date stamp, 'BRIT.
