The tinted lithographs highlighted in color by hand are especially lovely and make this volume exceptionally desirable' (Czech). Captain Harris, an officer in the East India Company's Bombay Engineers, was invalided to the Cape in 1835-1837, during which time he travelled, in the company of Richard Williamson, from Algoa Bay, by way of Somerset and the Orange River, until they reached the kraals of the Matabele chief Moselikatze. Provenance: Duke of Manchester, ownership stamp on front free endpaper.
