Abel-Klinger terrestrial globe on stand Cartouche printed 'The Earth published by J.G Klinger in Nurenburgh constructed, delineated and etched by J A Buhler', the sphere mounted in brass meridian within octagonal ring applied with coloured printed scales for compass points, zodiac and calendar, on mahogany stand with four bun feet, 20cm wide, 20cm deep, 30cm high (7 1/2in wide, 7 1/2in deep, 11 1/2in high) Footnotes: Klinger was an engraver based in Nuremberg who published various sized globes. The firm was bought in 1831 by Johann Dreykorn who continued to use the name until Carl Able joined the company in 1852 when it changed to C Able Klinger.
