A collection of silver flatware various maker's and dates Comprising: six Hanoverian pattern bottom marked table spoons, three William Petley, London 1724, and three Elizabeth Tookey, London 1773, all engraved with the same crest; nine Hanoverian pattern bottom marked dessert spoons, Ebenezer Coker, London, date letters indistinct circa 1746, engraved crest; together with a quantity of collected Old English pattern flatware, comprising: fourteen table spoons, including five Hester Bateman, London 1783, initialled 'IRMF', crested, six Richard Crossley, London 1798, crested; eighteen dessert forks, including twelve Solomon Hougham, London 1807 and six Irish examples, initialled and crested; fourteen varying dessert spoons and twelve teaspoons, including examples by Richard Crossley; and two sauce ladles. (Qty) Footnotes: Provenance: By family descent to the present owner Items include the crest of a Saracen in kneeling position, a sword at his side and offering in his hand a crescent, is that used anciently by the MINSHULL family that acknowledges the contribution of John MINSHULL in the crusader wars. Also a crest of mount vert a crossbow erect proper, possibly of the WILKES family.
