TWO COPPER ALLOY FIGURES OF KRISHNA, THE BUTTER THIEF SOUTH INDIA, VIJAYANAGARA PERIOD, 15TH/16TH CENTURY 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm) high, the larger Footnotes: 印度南部 毗奢耶那伽羅王朝 十五/十六世紀 克里希納銅像二尊 Each sculpture depicts Krishna as a mischievous crawling infant absconding with a butterball in his right hand. Compare a similar example in the Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena, (M.1977.30.10.S). Compare another from the same collection as the present lot previously sold at Bonhams, New York, 20 July 2020, lot 828. Provenance Private Newport Beach Collection, acquired 1962 Private West Coast Collection since 2008 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
