AN ILLUSTRATION FROM A RAGAMALA SERIES: DIPAK RAGINI DECCAN, HYDERABAD, SECOND QUARTER 18TH CENTURY Opaque watercolor and gold on paper; recto inscribed in the bottom undecorated border; verso with ink nagari inscriptions and penciled English translations, the latter reputedly by Stella Kramrisch. Image: 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 in. (19 x 11.4 cm); Folio: 9 x 6 1/2 in. (22.9 x 16.5 cm) Footnotes: Provenance Elizabeth Hallstrom Greenfield Petrie (1913-2003) Thence by descent Mrs. Petrie served on the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Board of Trustees as Vice President, working alongside Stella Kramrisch. Mrs. Petrie was was also a Trustee of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
