A MAIDEN RECEIVING A BEARDED MAN DECCAN OR RAJASTHAN, CIRCA 1700 Ink on paper; the accompanying frame with various descriptions and notes penned by Stuart Carey Welch and with Fogg Art Museum, Harvard loan labels. Folio: 10 x 7 in. (25.4 x 17.8 cm), irregular Footnotes: Stuart Cary Welch's notes on the backboard of the accompanying frame indicate he first attributed this masterful drawing to Ajmer or Sawar in Rajasthan, around 1690, 'probably by an artist trained at Aurangabad'. However, a later note indicates he changed his mind, deciding that a Golconda origin, circa 1670, was more likely.
