Original pencil and crayon on paper, a drawing of Conrad and Sally sitting at a window watching the rain, 210 x 135 mm, inscribed ('A rain day ... let's have fun!') and signed ('Dr. Seuss') at lower margin, float mounted and framed to 425 x 340 mm overall. Provenance: Every Picture Tells a Story, c.2007. Dr. Seuss reproduces the illustration for page 3 of The Cat in the Hat, where the two children look out at the rain over the text, 'So all we could do was to / Sit! / Sit! / Sit! / Sit! / And we did not like it. / Not one little bit.'
