CASED MODEL OF A YANGTZE JUNK America, c. 1935, painted and stained wood model of a three-masted hull with two battened sails raised, the flag inscribed with Chinese word for tailwind, '顺', hangs upside-down; lot includes a second printing of G.R.G. Worcester's The Junks and Sampans of the Yangtze (Annapolis: Naval Institute Press, 1971), case, 101cm wide, 38cm deep, 88cm high (40 1/4in wide, 15 1/4in deep, 35 5/8in high). Footnotes: Provenance A Longmeadow, Massachusetts, collection. OVERALL CONDITION: Good. Wear appropriate with age. Restoration by Colin Gray of Nantucket, Massachusetts, and again by a Boston conservator in 2004. This condition report is provided for your convenience based on the opinion of our cataloguers.
