TOYOHARA KUNICHIKA (1835-1900) AND INOUE TANKEI (1869-1889) Meiji era (1868-1912), dated 1878 and 1885 Three oban tate-e prints: two bijinga by Kunichika of Mono omoi (Pensive Love) and Yaito (Burning Moxa) from the series Kaika ninjo kagami (Mirror of Flowering Manners and Customs), published by Kobayashi Tetsujiro, dated 1878, signed Toyohara Kunichika hitsu, 35.7cm x 24.7cm (14 1/16in x 9 11/16in) and 35cm x 24cm (13¾in x 9 7/16in), respectively; the last by Tankei depicting Shizuka Gozen dancing for Yoritomo from the series Kyodo risshi no motoi (Instruction in the Fundamentals of Success), published by Matsuki Heikichi, dated 1885, signed Inoue Tankei ga, 36.5cm x 25cm (14 3/8in x 9 7/8in).
