ANONYMOUS Scenes from the Genpei Wars Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century A pair of six-panel byobu (folding screens), each mounted with six original kakejiku (vertical hanging scrolls), in ink and colours on paper with a similar composition depicting scenes from the Genpei Wars between the Minamoto and Taira clans, courtiers, and bird-and-flower genre scenes, unsigned. Overall: 174cm x 349cm (68½in x 137 5/8in); each painting: 126cm x 49cm (49 5/8in x 19¼in). (2). This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * W * VAT on imported items at a preferential rate of 5% on Hammer Price and the prevailing rate on Buyer's Premium.
