Carved English Club Butt Fowler, c. 1721. 53 1/4 in., .74 caliber barrel with illegible proof marks at the breech and two rings at 9 1/3 and 12 3/4 in. form the breech, brass blade front sight; British Pattern 1703 ordnance musket lock with pointed tail engraved 'G/[W]ALDRIDGE/8' and crown over 'AR' with two crowned broad arrow marks below the pan; walnut stock with elaborately floral carved panels on three sides of the butt, the bottom carved 'RL 1721'; brass furniture including a plain trigger guard with ball finial, sheet brass butt plate with short narrow tang, engraved serpent side plate, and three sheet brass rammer pipes; wood rammer. Overall lg. 68 1/2 in. Condition: Barrel toned to deep brown with overall moderate pitting; lock toned to deep brown with pitting in the pan; stock is restored between the third rammer pipe and entry area, there is a 6 1/2 in. sliver of wood repair along the right side of the barrel channel, minor insect damage below the forward part of the lock mortice, chip loss at back of breech plug tang; brass toned to deep yellow/brown.
