Sa rencontre avec le sculpteur Henri Laurens marque sa conception des œuvres qui afficheront désormais un rapport particulier au vide et au plein. Fidèle à la technique du colombin aplati, elle recouvre les faïences et grès d'émaux appliqués au pinceau. Les couleurs aiguisées sur formes libres donnent aux pièces de Claire Debril, utilitaires ou non, une vibration particulière. Cette céramiste exposée dans les grandes collections françaises s'est éteinte en 2021. Born in 1927, Claire Debril works with clay in the Paris region. Her meeting with the sculptor Henri Laurens marked her conception of works which from then on would display a particular relationship to the void and the full. Faithful to the flat coil technique, she covers earthenware and stoneware with enamels applied with a brush. The sharp colours on free forms give Claire Debril's pieces, whether utilitarian or not, a particular vibration. This ceramist, who was exhibited in major French collections, passed away in 2021.
