Hugo Robus (1885-1964) Dreamer inscribed 'HUGO ROBUS' and 'ROMAN BRONZE WORKS INC N.Y.' (along the base) bronze with golden brown patina 15 in. (38.1 cm.) high Modeled in 1961; Cast circa 1963. Footnotes: Provenance Forum Gallery, New York. Literature Forum Gallery, Hugo Robus, exhibition catalogue, New York, 1963, n.p., no. 12, another example illustrated. Forum Gallery, L. Goodrich, Hugo Robus (1885-1964): Memorial Exhibition, New York, 1966, n.p., no. 2, another example illustrated. R.K. Tarbell, Hugo Robus (1885-1964), exhibition catalogue, Washington, D.C., 1980, pp. 116-17, 222, 238, fig. 109, cat. no. 116, another example illustrated. There are six known bronze examples of Dreamer, including the present work, that were cast by Roman Bronze Works. The first two examples were cast by June 10, 1963. The remaining four casts were produced in 1964, two within the artist's lifetime and two directly following his death that same year, to complete an edition of six. (R.K. Buyers' Premium and Charges

28% on the first $50,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of $50,000 up to and including $1,000,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of $1,000,000 up to and including $6,000,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of $6,000,000.
A 3rd-party bidding platform fee (the "3rd-party bidding platform fee") equal to 4% of THE BID PRICE shall be payable by buyers whose successful bid is submitted via 3rd-party bidding platforms, including Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.

Oversized Lots
