Deux verres à vin, Ludwig Moser & Söhne, Karlsbad et Emil Hoppe pour Bakalowits & Söhne, Vienne, vers 1903 et 1906 Two wine glasses by Ludwig Moser & Söhne, Karlsbad, and Emil Hoppe for Bakalowits & Söhne, Vienna, circa 1903 and 1906 The Moser glass from service no.7220, the round funnel bowl finely engraved with a spray of poppies, the lower part cut with strawberry diamonds below a flange edged in gilding, on a tall slender octagonal stem and faceted foot, 21.3cm high, the Bakalowits glass from service no.130, manufactured by Meyr's Neffe, the ovoid bowl with a rim tinted in emerald-green graduating to clear glass, cut with bands of square facets, on a faceted stem and foot in clear glass, 17.5cm high (2) Footnotes: Provenance: Christian von Reitzenstein Collection Born in 1876 in Austria, Hoppe became an architect working under Otto Wagner, before establishing his own practice in 1909. During this time he designed textiles and postcards as well as a single wine service, see K W Warthorst, Gebrauchsglas 1898-1924, 2001. p.63.
